Google for education
We were given the opportunity to redesign the marketing site for Google for Education, a site dedicated to informing audiences how they can spark learning on a budget. The unifying narrative for this experience was to focus on issues such as technology inequality, education effectiveness, and preparing future problem solvers. Google understood that learning is changing faster than education is adapting, and as a company, they can help address that by applying their products and programs. The existing site no longer met their needs, and needed an IA and content overhaul based around three core “pillars” - Education, Computer Science, and Philanthropy.
Team: 2 UX Designers, 2 Visual Designers
Understanding THE Users
We created a grid laying out all user types and the tasks they were likely to undertake. We assigned varying degrees of Importance to each user and task
PERSONAS
The user personas helped us hone in on what content the user needs to see throughout their experience. Cross referencing this against our
larger chart ensured we assigned the proper content to the correct pages
USER JOURNEYS
We used small vignettes to identify key content groupings across various user tasks.
USER JOURNEY + ARCHITECTURE
We used tasks to show how two different architecture types would affect the flow. The top flow redirects the user offsite, the bottom flow would
keep the user on site and provide a breadth of information
Site Architecture Concepts
